Upgrade MK3s+ to 3.5s upgrade and enclosure and LCD

Finally getting around to doing a bunch of work on my printer.  All the held off service and upgrades being done and came across an issue.  There are no instructions on the xLCD and how to fit it to the outside of the Prusa enclosure.  The instructions for the enclosure have the LCD inside the enclosure which is not good when there is a heater inside where the display would be.  No answer here, I will contact Prusa.

I cannot find instructions on how do disconnect the LCD ribbon cable in any of the Prusa documentation I have downloaded.  I know that there are two side clips on the xLCD.  I want to be able to test my upgrade on the bench before putting it into the enclosure.  I may look at some different ribbon cable connectors for the enclosure and extend them.

FWIW, I am doing multiple upgrades at this time.  Changing to polymer bearings (as a test), REVO hot end (Long overdue) and finishing the MMU3 upgrade to my hotend.

I have found that the polymer bearings I purchased don't have the steel shell and can be distorted by tightening the mounting screws.  This affects movement.  I want to try polymer bearings to see how they work for 3D printing.  No lube needed.  Will work to over 100 degrees.  I have already had a bearing seize and damage a 8mm rod, even with lubrication.  I will post more when I get some data.

RE: Upgrade MK3s+ to 3.5s upgrade and enclosure and LCD

If you go to the printable parts page,
Then files
LCD Support and FS cover
There are the STL files for the MK3 /3.5 series LCD cover

https://www.printables.com/model/251931-enclosure-printable-parts/files

Then it would basically be a little work of following the instructions for the MK4, but instead of the MK4 parts, you would use the MK3.

For how to disconnect the LCD, you could follow the instructions on the MK3 to MK4 upgrade instructions and look at step 8

https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/1b-printer-disassembly_734374#737554

Just be careful not to yank out the LCD cable to the point of breaking the cables internally

I will submit a request for an update, but wanted to give you a quicker solution.
