Wiping buildplate w/alcohol
I learned a learned an interesting fact.
If you wipe the buildplate with alcohol after a recent paper cut, it feels like your finger is being peeled by white hot razor blades.
I don’t really recommend trying it.

Hmm, here is your sign. Just kidding, I have done the papercut alcohol thing also.

do you have a sacrificial child?...
guess that approach may be frowned upon by the authorities...
have you seen the Ohlson ruby Torque wrench?

use that as an insulator for your fingers!
should reduce the chances of burning your fingers.

That was actually my initial reaction, “Duuuh, should have seen that one coming...”
But I can have fun laughing at my own stupidity, and let’s just say I have a lot of fun.

It took me a minute... I'm guessing deducing the finned part functions as a ratchet(?)
....which suggests it needs to be removed & flipped between loosening & tightening.
Still, if I'm going to have to shop for/acquire the steel parts (stem & socket), something like that T-wrench may still be a better option (for me, anyway). I haven't got the bug so bad (as some) that I have to print everything... :ugeek:

Re: Wiping buildplate w/alcohol
Hi Ruffus. The finned part is intended to slip when too much tightening force is exerted
And jam when Undoing

Isn't that essentially what a ratchet is/does?

Well, that's another thing I learned today! 😛
(That's right--Sixty-mumble years, and never had occasion to own/use a torque wrunch... 😳 )

Re: Wiping buildplate w/alcohol
I just printed out 2 of the wrenches at work. That will help me avoid the hot nozzle.
