Windows installation fails
Hi guys,
The prusa3d_win_2_2_3.exe does not install well on Win10. Is this a well known problem or something which can be alleviated? When I click on the file my computer says
"This app has been blocked for your protection. An administrator has blocked you from running this app. For more information, contact the administrator...."
I have admin privileges on this computer. I hope you can lend a hand so I can get it up and running.
All the best,
Børge
Re: Windows installation fails
It works perfectly on my Windows 10, system. It is most likely something that has been changed in your Windows Security settings and is blocking the program for some reason.
Re: Windows installation fails
I got the same error. I am an administrator on this PC.
Re: Windows installation fails
@3Delight we have two users reporting this error on the same day. How long ago were you successful running that file? Perhaps a recent Windows update has caused a problem? Do you have any other ideas what might cause this? I install software all the time and have never run into this dialog.
Re: Windows installation fails
Hmmm, you are right, just tried it and it has blocked it?! It says it is from an unknown publisher... I've just looked at it and there is a problem with the Security Certificate... I will notify Prusa Research...

Thank you
Re: Windows installation fails
Turns out Prusa Research we're already aware and were sorting it out! All being well this should be fixed tomorrow (Wednesday 13th March 2019). I'm afraid till then we'll have to have a little patience, thanks for letting us know about it. 🙂

Thank you
Re: Windows installation fails
I used this youtube video LUA to help solve it.
Re: Windows installation fails
Without knowing the reason for this failure I'm not comfortable bypassing this security feature. While it is unlikely, it is possible this file actually has been corrupted, for example with a virus. These checks are here for a reason.
Re: Windows installation fails
At least it's not just me then, I had the same last night.
Normal people believe that if it ainât broke, donât fix it. Engineers believe that if it ainât broke, it doesnât have enough features yet.
