Why was my model deleted from Printables?
Why was my model deleted? I modelled this from scratch and even included the STEP file for others to use!
Yes, my design was inspired by another design, but it was not a clone / remix. Please re-instate it!
I also have an extended version which I had gotten around to publishing:

RE:
I've reported the person who I believe reported me, so I'll see if that gets anywhere first.

While designed from the ground up, it does seem your model is derived from the other uploader’s model. I see many uploaders labeling their models as remixes even if those are built from the ground up. I’ve done the same. It has absolutely no downsides doing so and you prevent confusion. It also gives props to the people you got your inspiration from.
I do think that prusa should give uploaders the chance to fix their page before deleting it entirely. Putting it in Draft mode would be a good way to do this.
RE:
With some designs you have physical constraints that simply can’t be avoided, in this case you have the BlueSCSI board and the Mac SE expansion slot.
As a result, any designs will have distinct similarities.
I even mentioned that my design was inspired by the original. I just find this whole thing distasteful.
RE: Why was my model deleted from Printables?
Perhaps trademark/tradename violation?
RE: Why was my model deleted from Printables?
If that were the case, then all items with Macintosh in the name would have been removed, not just my model.
RE: Why was my model deleted from Printables?
I don't have any contact with the Printables moderators but I can see where they may have felt it was 2 similar looking to PotatoFi's version. Why didn't you make it more different? Live mount the car towards the left of the face plate, change the SD card symbol, to be honest it just looks like PotatoFis version with "BlueSCSI" on it instead of their symbols.
Bare in mind that just because you modelled it from scratch doesn't mean it's not a copy of someone else's, the overall look is copyrightable to me it is too similar. For example if you made a cup that looked like a LEGO cup that LEGO uploaded but changed the word LEGO on the base to MINE it wouldn't make any difference that you modelled it yourself, it would still be a breach of the terms and conditions... Remixes are OK, but remodels aren't.

Which could easily be the case if Apple cared to pursue it. Just try to post anything with Lego in it…
Having said that, no idea if there's a trademark issue here because BlueSCSI looks like open source and not protected.

RE:
@3Delight Look closely, my micro SD card symbol IS different. There are a lot of details that are not the same, eg I didn’t bother adding holes for the mounting spare screws.
I also put a lot more effort into reducing overhangs to reduce bridging to make it easier to print. I designed in M3 knurled heat set nuts instead of screwing into nuts that drop in from the top.

Exactly, it’s an open source project.
