Why Prusa always have issues with shipping the MMU?

Correct me if I am wrong. I think even before the pandemic, users were complaining about long wait and shipping time always got delayed. Am I right? Why Prusa always have issues in shipping the MMU? I ordered about two weeks ago. Before ordering, I was assured that there was no issue with production and production had been increased. At that time, the expected shipping date was about 4 weeks but now it is changed to 8 weeks. How likely will shipping be changed to 8+ weeks later on? Is the MMU2S worth the wait?

Judging by your post probably not.

Either way, if and when you receive your MMU2S I'm sure there will be no shortage of interesting posts from you in the future.

Disclaimer:  I am NEW here, so new that I don't even know what a MMU is (although in a previous life I would have assumed it to be a memory management unit,

hmm, maybe there was such a thing in my previous career ?)

Anyway, export/import controls being what they are I'll relate my recent experience.

I ordered SL1S and CW1S bundle on May 31st., also a package of spare FEP for each unit - the first credit card I tried blocked the order, the second one went OK.

I received the washer & printer on June 6th., the FEPs came on June 7th.

Context;  shipped  via DHL because they were the cheapest - to Massachusetts USA about 35 miles west of Boston.

I  had a message from DHL some time around June 4th asking for my social security number because I am the "importer of record".

It appears that imported goods over $2500 attract a little more scrutiny and a few more form boxes need to be filled.

,I submitted it and answered a question that they didn't ask - that it is for "Hobby" use.

A day or so later I had to pay $125 import duty, which I did on line.

Neither of these incidents caused any delay, in fact June 6th was a day earlier than the original estimate.

In this context MMU means Multi Material Unit. It's for the FDM printers (i3 MK3S or Mini), not for your resin printer.
