Why not twice as long??
I'm printing a very tall tube (a replacement post for an LED light). When I slice just one of these objects, I get a print time of 3h 38m. I decided to add a second to see how long it would print two at once, with the expectation that it should take longer per object to print two, because you have the additional travel time between the two objects. The print time has only increased to 4h 23m. In other words, it is only taking 45 minutes, or 21% more time, to print that second object. That makes no sense to me, unless there is some kind of delay per layer due to the material? (using PETG).
Any insight as to why printing two of something doesn't take (AT LEAST) twice as long as printing one?

Depends on your cooling settings. There’s a proportional slowdown if layer time is below xx function on the filament settings. Printing 2 could be taking your layer time above the minimum and so no slowdown.
As usual if you save your project and zip it up and attach here we can take a look and check.

This is a thin, hollow, tall tube, so the time to print each layer is just several seconds. I see now in the Filament Settings a "Slow down if layer print time is below:" which is defaulted to 15 seconds. It definitely takes less than 15 seconds to print a layer of a single object, so that is what is going on here.
