Why does the website show my email name?
Hello,
when creating the account, there's an option to set a public name. What I would assume is, that this public name is being used as the name, when posting comments either here or on the prusa help site. However, they just use the first half of the email address seemingly without giving an option to change that.
I did create a Prusa account to track orders etc under my real name, since it made sense to keep it the same with the shipping address names, etc. However I do not want to post under my real name.
Please enlighten me, how to change the name thats beeing used with posts or how to delete previous posts.
Note: This is obviously a secondary account until the naming issue can be fixed.

RE: Why does the website show my email name?
@vlejundo
I think you might have been logged in and not yet a 'true' registered member of the forums, so you were seeing data only you could see. There's a chance others could have seen your private info - I reported something similar when this WordPress version of the forum was launch years back. But pretty sure that security hole was patched.
As of now, I only see your @vlejundo name ... so it looks like you are okay and not exposing yourself.
ps: if in doubt reach out to a moderator or Prusa's CHAT help on their store.
pps: you can also go into your account profile and edit the names ...
RE: Why does the website show my email name?
Thank you for the feedback so far.
I have gone through every prusa website I could find and checked my account settings, but none seem to let me set the shown username when posting on help.prusa3d. It will always use the first part of my email address.
https://www.prusaprinters.org/
- lets me set a display name and shows this name while posting
shop.prusa3d.com
- lets me set a name, not sure, whether it's used for anything.
help.prusa3d.com
- doesn't seem to have an account profile setting and just uses the first half of my email for the username.

RE: Why does the website show my email name?
In auth server, we stored: avatar, username and nonpublic name and surname.
The recent changes only made a merge of the PrusaPrinters and Forum usernames and avatars based on the logic below:
- If the user had username and avatar on PrusaPrinters - > we used this data instead of forum data.
- If the user had an account on the forum (username or/and avatar) and hasn't PrusaPrinters account, we used their data from Forum.
The case, when we could change username or/and avatar is when they had filled username/avatar on both platforms (forum, prusaprinters). In that case, the PrusaPrinters data got higher priority.
Users can change their username/avatar easily in their profile.
Also, the usernames in the blog were changed. Before yesterday, users couldn´t change their usernames when they wrote comments. Their usernames were based on email address before the "@".
If there are any other questions, you can reach out to support for assistance or ask on here. I hope this helps.
