isnt Zhop to help with retraction? I will turn it off and see what it does to prints. honestly it still has to look better then my first printer my poor wanhao. on a brite note I did print petG like glass. very high temps and very slow

It raises Z a bit when moving. It can help if you have scarring of top surfaces as the extruder moves across the print. Other than that, it doesn't add anything. If you weren't having the problem, disabling it won't do much.

every little bit will help trying to get the "•Faster printing: 200+ mm/s" as it says about the MK3. think I will try to hit that thiss weekend. wonder if straight lines would print faster then circles?

weekend challenge... print something at 200 MM a second
ill be damned that's what the infill is set too. parameters is my challenge 😀

Z hop also reduces the likelihood of the nozzle colliding with parts as it steps from one print area to another!

I've only recently come to appreciate how much z-hop contributes to stringing. I'd been happily using the Prusa preset of 0.6mm z-hop for a while and have been getting a lot of fine stringing with PLA, PETG, NGEN and XT that I didn't seem to have before. Very wispy thin strings, so easy to zap with a hot air gun, but still a bother. I finally disabled z-hop and the stringing almost completely disappeared on PLA and dropped significantly with the others. I'm doing some testing to see if I can use it at all without introducing stringing.
