RE:

I talked with one of the managers at FOSDEM, asked about INDX, and he said they got a contract with a Bondtech and thus any announcements about INDX are managed by Bondtech, and should be redirected to Bondtech.

Prusa team will be just silent because they are bound with the contract.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

I feel like I'm on a Kickstarter. At least it was only $150

I was about to mention Kickstarter... In contrast to that platform, it's rather uncommon for established companies to provide live updates on their development efforts before a product launches. But I guess Bondtech and Prusa have moved halfway into Kickstarter territory, with the early announcement and partial pre-payment.

At least with Bondtech and Prusa, you will be the product.  Kickstarter is lower odds of delivery.

Seems like established companies are taking this route. Example the SnapMaker U1

More and more, it seems you are right.  They are using this to offset development costs.

I think it's rather to drum up publicity. And in some cases to try and convince customers to defer their buying decision and wait for the shiny new thing, rather than buy from the competition now.

I would like to see an upgrade for the Mini.  Not sure what, but a corexy would be nice.  I get the feeling they might have abandoned it.

I'd definitively be interested in a lower-cost Prusa machine. I like the idea of having a second back-up printer offload your main printer to cut down on waiting time when you're wanting to prototype. I got a second hand Prusa Mini, but I eventually gave up on it due to the downsides of having a bowden tube design.

I don't know if it would be more wise for Prusa to spend man hours on a more budget-oriented product or man hours on more costly but advanced printers. I guess we'll see!

I have six minis.  What issues did you have with the Bowden?  I have had zero issues.

I had these issues (see link). In short, some minor stringing (even in PLA) that I could never completely get rid of. I wanted print quality pretty much equivalent to my main MK4 printer, which I kind of got apart from the stringing, but the stringing itself was enough of a deal breaker.

That is unfortunate.  I have been able to dial mine in to where I only get measurable stringing with wet filament.  I try to stick to quality filaments, or if I am going cheap, I avoid switching brands.  Each filament is different, and I have to dial it in.

I highly doubt Prusa is going to fix this type of problem. I made my own solution. Seems like 75% is good enough these days for Prusa to release a product. CS gaslights every single problem I have brought forth, these aren't event personnal perferences. Actual firmware and design flaws with the C1L.

did anyone notice that there are no news/updates on INDX? it should be coming soon, but internet is silent is everything going ok with INDX?

P.S. what's next - i'd hope that POWER BUTTON on the front of the printer should be one of the whats next for prusa, i hate reaching behind my C1L and trying to find where that power switch is.

Prusa will be a niche market for the foreseeable future.  I think they have given up on the entry-level market.  I work for the US GOV now, and their purchases cannot be a Bambu.  Typically, they are forced to buy US-made products.  They can buy NATO-made products, such as Prusas, with a waiver.  Prusa would be good to advertise their security.

AFAIR, the US government sales avenue was one of the big reasons why Prusa bought PrintedSolid. I don't know if they (PrintedSolid) are tooled up for making the C1L yet, but you can get a US manufactured C1+, MK4 (and maybe XL?) to satisfy the US-made requirements of US government funding.

Interesting solution, but I would prefer an official solution.

Slightly off-topic but still relevant update: I accidentally solved all my stringing issues with PLA by printing with a PHA profile, prints come out almost identical to the MK4 quality-wise. I have no idea why and I can't say that I feel I have the time to reverse-engineer to find out exactly which settings change solved the issue. I'm happy enough to just print PLA with the PHA profile. I'll attach my printing profile here in case anyone needs it.

EDIT: Never mind, apparently I can't attach .3mf files here.

ZIP it first then you can attach. Which is ironic because .3mf is already a zip
