Variable Infill (Multiple Processes by object/layer) possible?

Been an S3D user for my business for years. Really enjoying the PS2.0 results from some of my more more simple prints, but some require more infill variance in certain sections.

S3D has this figured out: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/articles/different-settings-for-different-regions-of-a-model/

Is this possible in PS2.0?

You can place modifiers, and within the modifier enable infill variation;  it appears to work as expected.

PS I have found the infill by object setting. Super intuitive and easy. Hoping to be able to set by layer. Some parts of a print need to be more solid due to mechanical interface once finished.

very late here. Reporting back for future users: this method above works very well. I prefer it to S3D's solution.

Tim to the rescue.  Thanks.  Great topic and just in time.

I was trying to figure out how to get differing infills for individual parts.  WOW, even more power than I thought I could exercise over part slicing.  Someday I might even become a true slicer magician.  Great to be able to change infills because I am trying to print some auto-rewind spool holders for my MMU2S.  Pre-building everything including but not limited to the Lack enclosure and the auto-retracting spool holders for dry box(s) before the mod.

Now to get already sliced parts into Prusa Slicer and be able to see what's going on.  I am not liking to have to use a text editor or some other gcode reader to import and view already sliced work.  I have changed the first line from Prusa Slicer to Slic3r and read the files in but I cannot view the results.  Just some of the settings.  🙁

  Thanks again Tim,

Robin

Another trick that I've found is if you want to remove part of a print, you can put a part modifier over the "offending" area and set the perimeter, top layers, bottom layers, and infill for that modifier all to zero. What ever area of the print that is overlapped by the modifier won't print and perimeters will "heal" the wound.

I imagine (I haven't tested) an interesting artistic effect could be to intersect your object with modifiers that just turn off perimeters, top layers, and bottom layers but leave the infill to create artistic "windows" through the perimeters to show the infill. I might have to find a clown model and try that to have infill polka-dots on it's costume.
