Using objects in slicer to remove areas

I watched Josef's video on using Mesher to as relief's with infills in slicer 2.0.

I want to know if I can place a object to use to remove an area my part in slicer.

I have a part that I want to remove some of the top using a object in slicer, but when I go to slice nothing happens.  Is the problem due to the object being placed at the top of my part and not touching the build plate?

I would think that is not the problem because in the video prusa adds a object to the top majority of the part.

Please tell me what settings I need to use to get the object to remove part of my design when I place and slice it.

Thank you,

RE: Using objects in slicer to remove areas

In prusa slicer there is a cut function, not with a object.

Then you can choose keep both part or delete 1 part.

At the left side you can find this.

Search for movies on more explanation on the prusa slicer.

RE: Using objects in slicer to remove areas

You can also place a modifier mesh over a part and then if you select zero infill, perimeters/top/bottom layers etc it will also act to remove the area covered my the modifier.  Try it and experiment with different settings.  For example you can leave infill on but turn top and bottom layers off in an area to expose the infill.
