RE:

I called the EPA TSCA hotline (202 554 1404) and asked for help. They told me to check neither certification box, fill out the required lines, and put 'Article not covered by TSCA' (as I was only importing the non-toxic printer). Emailed the form to FedEx, and customs released it a couple days later. Good luck

Yes, I got it. And I love it. No troubles out of the box. Prints beautifully. Best resolution I've had out of a printer (ex MakerBot Rep 2x user). It was probably in customs less than a week. I just need to find more time to melt plastic.

Thanks for the phone number! I had to do this stupid TSCA form for the filament in my printer order.

From my understanding anything over $800 can trigger the duties fee's at least if you go on a cruise and buy some things you can only bring so much into the country ((booze is one (Rum)). I know back in 2020 we purchased are MK3 and MMU which was over the $800 and we had to pay around $200 in duties fee's. The duties fee's change so not sure how much you will have the pay. My complaint would be the hazard material forms.

Yes, this.  One of the reasons I bought my 3S+ as a kit instead of as an assembled printer, was keeping the order value below the customs threshold.  Between the shipping cost difference on the kit vs. assembled, and the potential customs fee, the savings for the kit was quite a bit more than just the price difference.  You can get the kit and add one additional sheet and stay below the $800 threshold.  Sounds like if you want an SL1S in the US you are just screwed and will have to pay customs.

That is correct.

RE: US Customs hassles with Prusa Order

Hey folks, I'm really struggling here...overwhelmed, actually. Hoping for some help.

Ordered SL1S/CW1S Bundle that included the "gift" of resin, now stuck in Indiana, USA Customs awaiting clearance.

I have no idea where to start. Prusa has not been helpful. From what I have gathered from in this thread, there is hope.

What Reg/ID # are they talking about? Am I the "importer"? Who do I send this info to?

Am I the consignee?? (I've never heard that word before).

Can someone please take the time to. walk me through this (MikeBrink)?

Thanks so much.

Stu

Thanks @involve! "Negative Certification" it is!!!

Now I'm waiting for someone at Customs to email a "Importer # form".  I guess that's the 5106 form.

I can download it myself but have no idea where to email it to...

Any Idea how to email this form to the right place??

Thanks,

Stu

I am pretty sure you are the consignee.
