My personal recommendation for a heat gun is to get a butane torch instead.

Strings shrink instantly and are easily removed afterwards. I used a heat gun before and had issues with it melting and deforming my prints because you need to keep it pointed at the print longer to get rid of strings.

For just melting of some small artefacts, the heat gun is efficient enough. I would recommend a battery powered heat gun like this one:

For smoothing a surface, you will probably need a gas torch, as the heat gun can not supply the heat fast enough. As mentioned a kitchen gas torch works fine and has dual use 😉

A deburr tool.   Good for elephant foot, brim removal and edge clean up. also allen wrench sets
