The design for the MMU3.0 - print colourizer????

Come on Prusa, apply your awesomeness to making this robust...

A pen holding clip for the (MK3 series) frame, a mount on the X-Stepper, a few tweaks in the Prusa Slicer... What else do you need 😀

This is what the MMU does best - if you just want pretty colour changes the MMU has few challenges and, apart from the waste of the wipe tower, does a better job than a paint-on sharpie.

For engineering colour-change use the MMU is unnecessary as legends and scales are easy to print with a couple of manual filament changes.

It is true multi-material that remains difficult:    Ideally one could design a print-in-place mechanism with a rugged PETG frame, crisp PLA gears, flex shock-absorbers and electrically conductive power loom tracks all seperated by soluble PVA so that it's print, wash, fit the batteries and go...

This is impossible for your coloriser approach and, regrettably, the MMU can't manage it either.

Cheerio,

cool!

How cool is that, though.

I'd try this, if Prusa supported it.

It might not be viable for Prusa,  though.

Faster

It would be faster to fetch different filaments instead of having a separate printing and coloring move.
You could combine it with a version of purge mechanism fixed on top of the printer, next to the filaments.

Something to investigate when the mechanism is delivered (delivery in 5 weeks)...

Having problems with bed adhesion every morning...

MMU3 = tool changer

First: It is multi-material, not multi-colour. We want to use different materials in one print. If you want true/full-colour printing, you can buy something like this.

Prusa had already announced that the XL will have a tool changer system. So purging the nozzle will not longer be needed.
