Starting a 3d Print Farm - Building Ideas
I am retiring from my second career in about 3 years and I am developing a plan to build a workshop that will contain a print farm. I have a wide variety of printers. I currently have 3 Resin Printers and 24 FDM (13 Prusas and 11 printers from other manufacturers). I have them currently between two rooms in a workshop setting but want to building a workshop that purpose build for my needs.
My goal is to keep my life organized and to have a side gig to supplement my retirement.
Has anyone done this and do you have a design / plan you can share? Any tips?

I'm pretty sure you can handle the technical side and, if necessary, get any business advice needed but: Remember to build enough slack into the plan (and perhaps a part-time employee) so that you can take time off to enjoy your retirement, go on a few trips and have some well earned retirement rest - and fun.

Great to hear from you, Chuck, and congrats on your retirement! As Diem said, don't overdo it. When I started my little print side business I didn't fully appreciate that of course orders always have to be fulfilled right when I'm planning on going somewhere…
On the technical side, all I can say (and I don't have nearly as many printers as you) is that if I could redesign my workshop again from scratch I would make sure I have full access to all printers from all sides. Right now they're stacked side-by-side against the wall, and it's always a royal pain to do anything that requires access to the back panels.
