Singer Oil Seeping into Stepper Motor

I have read online that singer oil is a suitable alternative to other lubricants for 3D printing so i went ahead and bought a bottle of it. When i tried lubricating the z-rod, i accidentally dripped quite a lot of oil on the z-rod causing it to drop down and accumulate onto the stepper motor (More accurately on the stepper motor bracket as seen in the picture), the picture is after i have cleaned most of it off. Will the singer oil have any negative affects on the stepper motor? (Ender 3 S1)

Probably not - but if the stepper runs hot you may get smoke and if very hot there is a small chance of fire; I don't know your printer but it's rare for printer manufacturers to drive steppers so hard.  As a check, if you can keep your fingers on the motor case when working it won't get hot enough to be dangerous.

Bear in mind that the old, frequent advice to use (Singer) sewing machine oil for light machinery is less sound since Singer changed their formulation for modern sewing machines that require a different grade of oil.

Check the manufacturer's support pages for recommended lubricant: failing that I would try a light silicone grease.

Cheerio,
