Question regarding models on Printables.com
I'm fairly new to 3D printing and I wanted to get some clarification on models posted on the Printables website. When an author says "Resolution" under the Print Settings area are they referring to the Layer height or the setting under Print Settings>Advanced>Slicing>Resolution? My guess is that this refers to layer height but I wanted to be sure.

As @diem says; but for clarity, you can use any layer height you prefer for reasons of speed or grade of detail. There´s no technical need to stick to a layer height used by any particular designer of a part.

That is certainly true, and for that reason I usually don't specify layer height aka vertical resolution when I post a model.

This statement is perhaps debatable. I sometimes upload models and provide a specific layer height that in my hands has proven to give optimal results. Examples are models with threads or print-in-place hinges. Printing those with lower layer height is not an issue but printing with higher layer heights may render the models unusable.
I guess my point is, there may be good reasons a creator specifies a layer height. But you should always feel free to experiment.
In some cases I even upload a 3mf file, to provide for example specific support configurations, infill modifications, or extruder width adjustments that may help optimize the print. But again, nothing forces you to use them but if a creator posts a 3mf, consider it a starting point for your experimentation.
