PrusaSlicer 2.0 hangs while slicing object with many perimeters.

I am having a problem while trying to slice the spring object for the auto rewind spool holder https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467 with  Prusa slicer 2.0 linux 64 (Appimage). Slicing causes it to stall / hang at around 20% of progress bar with all cpu cores maxed out at 100%. It will not recover and requires forced quit of slicer.

This was working fine (albeit a hair slow) with 1.42.0 but no hanging.

Ubuntu 14.04 / AMD FX-6100 hex-Core Processor / 32 gig ram / GeForce GT 730/PCIe/SSE2

Anyone else ?

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.0 hangs while slicing object with many perimeters.

I am having similar issues, but with the OSX version.

Large objects with many perimiters takes ages to slice, and even worse... it generates bad G-Code.

I have tried now with 2 different models and after waiting for a really long time, the slice finishes, but i cannot use the layer view. Then everything hangs. So i have to go directly to the export g-code.

But both models "that are 29hour prints" have failed on me now when they have 6hours left. The printer reports crashing into the object and i can see clear burnmarks on the printed object. I never had theese issues with the old version of the slicer. So as for now i cannot trust the prusaslicer on such large objects 🙁

Wow that's a lot of time and plastic to end with a fail.

I love the new PrusaSlicer 2.0 however, this reliability issue is a disappointment, I hope this can be sorted out quickly.

Please provide as much as possible data at https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues

You may try to disable the "Avoid crossing perimeters" feature.
