Prusa Slicer profile for using volcano nozzle?
Hi,
I've watched this recent CNC Kitchen video about using a volcano nozzle on a stock Prusa extruder:
Would the Prusa Slicer profile need to be updated if using this technique, and if so, how?

I suspect that you could edit the Max Print height value, in Prusa Slicer.
BUT, you would have to change your print cooling Fanduct to blow lower, to match the new nozzle length and you would need to adjust your Pinda Probe, to the new nozzle length so that the mesh bed levelling works correctly.

That makes sense, thanks for your reply. Just one thing: how would I adjust the Pinda probe? Is it just a matter of running the calibration wizzard?

Also, by chance are you aware of an existing STL/model for an adjustable fan shroud that I could easily orient up or down depending on which nozzle (regular or volcano) is installed?

No. You would physically have to move it down to be closer to the level of the nozzle. The pinda has an ~2mm sense distance to the steel of the print plate. That physical mod puts the nozzle much lower than that. I think there's enough thread on the pinda body itself to allow the move down though. But it will be a close thing. It *might* need a new extruder body printed with the mounting point also moved down.
If thats the case though then you would be making your printer not compatible with a normal nozzle setup.
