Prusa makes clunking sound and prints show bumps on base
My Prusa I3 MK3S makes a stange clunking sound when it moves and it seems to be linked with the odd bumps I find on the bottom of my prints.
Can anyone suggest how I might solve this please?
RE: Prusa makes clunking sound and prints show bumps on base
I don't think the two are related.
The 'bumps' suggest your first layer Z setting is very sightly off, probably too low. Redo the calibration but take note of your current live Z value before you make changes so you can easily get back and re-do as you are so close it would be easy to overshoot.
The clunking sounds like one of your X or Y motors, drive pullys or idler bearings needs attention. To narrow down the culprit listen for the clunks when moving along just one axis at a time. If the culprit is not obvious come back and we'll see if we can help.
Cheerio,

Thanks for your response! I'll give it a shot and see what happens

@sr71-blac
I would try raising your Z if the bumps appear wavy.
