Prusa gets exposure on Peta Pixel for 3d printed telescope
Very good article, and link to the Printables site for download.

Thanks for sharing the article. Ingenious use of a 3D printer. I might build one just for the lols... who doesn't want a telescope?

I agree, I enjoyed this also. but I already have a telescope 😀 .

I have a hand-me-down smaller refractor which I occasionally take out on the balcony to do a Moon and Saturn type of thing. I guess you could say that I'm casually interested in astronomy. We're still too close to the city center to get a really dark enough and pollution-free sky for any serious observation.
If I had more spare time I would consider building that project. One of the most interesting classes I ever took back in undergrad was Astronomy. I needed another natural science elective and that sounded interesting and it was, very much. This was, of course, decades before the university I went to got a real planetarium, but there were some parking lot viewings and a field trip out to a good dark viewing area with some very nice larger motor-driven Meade telescopes.
We did discuss the process of building one's own telescope, including a film on the very tedious process of grinding and polishing a mirror from scratch. It looks like the designer of this particular scope 'cheated' a bit by using a commercial spherical mirrot.
