Profile picture error on forum

Just wondering why my and some other from what I've seen profile pictures don't show up on the forum correctly. (See image)

Hello,

It happens frequently for me. I understand the thumbnail is not a small image to display, but code from the forum not delivered properly to our browsers. Forum software, hosting, CDN ? But it fails frequently.
