Problem saving custom filament profile in PrusaSlicer – crash and configuration reset

Hi everyone, I would like to ask if anyone has experienced a similar issue, or if the Prusa team could possibly look into this.

I am working on my bachelor’s thesis, where I am testing and tuning the material BASF EL60 RESIN. After gradually adjusting the settings, I created my own material profile in PrusaSlicer.

The problem happens when I try to save this material profile as a custom filament, so I do not have to enter all the values manually again.

After saving the custom material, PrusaSlicer closes/crashes. When I start it again, it opens in what looks like a backup or recovery mode, where almost everything is enabled. However, my custom material settings are missing.

The only way I have found to fix PrusaSlicer is to go to:

%appdata%

and manually delete my newly added custom material from the configuration/library folder. After that, PrusaSlicer starts normally again.

I would like to ask:

  1. Has anyone experienced this issue before?
  2. Is there a correct or safer way to save a custom material profile?
  3. Could the Prusa team check whether this might be a bug in PrusaSlicer when saving custom material profiles?

I am using PrusaSlicer for material tuning as part of my bachelor’s thesis, so being able to save and reuse settings would help me a lot.

Thank you for any advice or help.
