Printables - Suggestion Box

Here are a few of my suggestions on how I think Prusa could make Printables better?

Printables needs a Rules page like the one Shane wrote for this forum. How can you enforce the rules if no one knows or understands what the rules are.
You need to print and take pictures of your models.
No AI pictures.
Change the Prusameters system. Instead of giving people Prusameters for downloads change it to Makes.
Let us use our Prusameters at Printed Solid.
Models need at least 1 download per year or it’s deleted.

Good until the last. Things I need and things I do others might need are pretty obscure. Easy to go a year without a download. In all honesty, I wouldn't bother to contribute many things if I knew they were going to expire.

The problem is how do we get rid of the garbage? Everyday people upload models no one is ever going to download. I understand that the person who made the model is probably proud of it but how long should Printables keep it on their website if no one is downloading it? They can’t keep everything forever.

Well, that is a good one. I just select on popularity, so a lot of the slob doesn't reach me.

"We" don't have to do anything. Prusa can decide how much they are going to keep and for how long. I think you'd be surprised how much they can keep for basically forever. Storage is cheap, distributed cloud storage is even cheaper. And all that data is already labeled for training neural networks, so don't expect them to get rid of any of it. For comparison, YouTube has more video in hours than Earth's remaining lifespan, most of which no one will watch, yet I have no trouble finding what I want. What you are looking for is robust filtering.

I see people complaining about Printables.com occasionally but I've never had a problem using it, and most of what I download is stuff I'm just going to modify anyway.

I agree with you if Printables wants to keep models on their website that no one is downloading  that’s up to them. I was just making a suggestion on how they could remove them if they wanted to.

I’m not complaining about Printables I’m just trying to make it better. Does anyone else have any ideas on how Prusa could make Printables better?
