Print bed size?
I am preparing some STL files for my clock design for posting them on Thingiverse. The frame fits on my MK3 diagonally and the weight shell is almost at the vertical limit.
I already know that it fits on an MK3. I am wondering if it will fit on other non-Prusa 3D printers. Do any of the experts here would know the print volumes and popularity of other 3D printers?
There are over 100K Prusa printers with a print volume of 25 x 21 x 20-21 cm.
The CR-10 seems fairly popular. Most of them seem to be 30 x 30 x 40 cm, so it will be fine.
Most or all of the Monoprice options appear to be too small at 20 x 20 x 18 cm or less. They may be out of luck.
MakerBot Replicator 2X or larger should be OK. The Mini is way too small.
FormLabs and any other reasonably priced SLA printers are also too small.
What other popular designs am I missing?
thanks
Steve
Re: Print bed size?
I don't know if your design can accommodate this, but you might be able to do what Spannerhands did for their spool holder:

They have the full-size two piece design, and also supply the the two pieces cut down in half for a 4 piece design. Maybe you are able to provide a cut-up version for people with smaller printers to be able to print.

If the number of videos on youtube is to be believed the Creality Ender 3 it the current popular printer. I'm sure the $200ish price has something to do with that. Its build volume is 220x220x250.

Thanks for the info. That would be my plan to add a mod with multiple pieces. There might be a few solutions that would still be strong enough. It is for a clock that needs to support several pounds of hanging weight.

That is really good info. I will check if the design can be rotated to fit this machine.
