PETG Odor?

I printed something in PETG last night and got a little light headed and a burning sense in my nose. Is it concerning or just psychosomatic?

Re: PETG Odor?

PETG is pretty benign stuff, but good ventilation is always recommended. Depending on how far away you are, I'd definitely check into a fan or opening some windows in warmer temps. All 3D printed materials do emit nano-particles, which are more of a concern than noxious fumes with PETG. PETG is however low on the scale of emitted particles. ABS and some other materials do emit carcinogenic fumes. You could look into an enclosure or air filter if concerned.

Was there an odor of any kind, and was it strong or mild?

While highly unlikely, mislabeled/contaminated products are not unheard of.

Some say (for example) PETG is PETG, while others say you get what you pay for (while still others say price isn't always indicative of quality). I guess what I'm trying to say/ask is, was it a reputable/quality PETG or some bargain-basement brand that might have contained contaminants/impurities (not that there's any kind of consumer watchdog quality assurance entity for filament... 🙄 )
