PETG brand with similar property as Prusament

What are the alternative brand PETG that behaves similar to Prusament PETG? Officual PETG is so expansive from dealers, the 4+1 bundle is a great price but need to ship from Europe.

What are the ideal surface to print PETG, it cant be glass, I heard the recommend surface is powder coated PEI, is this a requirement or convivence?

Usually people recommend the textured PEI sheet from Prusa for PETG.
I have recently always printed PETG with the smooth PEI sheet, however with adhesive applied (Magigoo PC stick).

You can get lucky with a 6USD 1kg Spool and get in trouble with a 30USD one

sometimes it is gambeling special on things like white and Black

this is not on brand

it is as they mass production needs to be changeing lots of times a Day and that means there are quality steps

so Premium will give you the best changce to get a good one

like here production is on 1-15 kg at Color change is for B-Ware at 12USD then comes 15-30kg at 13USD then it goes to Premium at 15USD

as the Production Machine runs at 7Lines you got 200 spools of non ident Production untill the 1 Quality check takes place

thats a comen behavior at #Filament production  The diameter is calibrated twice so it is not the factor

Like you, I found that it's not really worth shipping on Prusament to the USA.  The only exception I have found, is if I need to place an order from Prusa anyway for small parts, then (at least as of a few months ago) it didn't add any additional shipping cost to add ONE spool of Prusament to the order.  Now that Printed Solid has it in the US that may be an option.  But it was my understanding that the "Prusament" that PS is selling is made on their own lines in the US, to Prusa's QC standards.  So it still may not be exactly the same stuff.

I have been using Overture from Amazon for all of my PETG needs so far.  I couldn't tell you how it compares since the only Prusament I have used has been PLA and ASA.  But the Overture PETG does seem to work fine, and they have a decent selection of colors.  I've used 7 or 8 of their colors so far with good success although I mostly just use black.

Textured powder coated sheet, all the way.

Overture PETG has been quite nice in my hands and is my usual go-to brand unless I need some special colors. More recently, I started to print a lot of Jarees, with excellent results.

I use the satin sheet for everything, unless I need a coarse surface structure like the original Prusa parts. The satin sheets handle everything, PLA, PETG, TPU, ASA, PC, etc, with ease. I don't use the Prusa textured sheets anymore. I found the BCZAMD gold sheets to be less temperamental, if I'm looking for a coarse surface structure. At least in my hands, they just work, without much fuss.

I have been using Polymaker (black and orange) and Overture (black and transparent) with the Prusa slicer PETG default and the Prusament PETG settings with success.

Did not notice much of a difference. I now tend to just use the default setting and do minor tweeks for the first layer bed temperature.
