PET-CF

Needing to print some parts that are specified for PC-CF. Im reading that PET-CF is easier to print at the expense of some impact strength.

Does anyone have any experience with PET-CF?

Printing on a CORE One.

Thanks!

RE: PET-CF

The bigger difference would be how the two handles temperature, pc handles higher temp than pet and the more likely reason to specify PC-CF is likely heat exposure, if that is the case pet can’t really replace pc. The next reason to specify PC-CF could be stiffness, here PETG-CF is still softer which can be good or bad depending on the application. Both PC-CF and PETG-CF print well on my core one, I would not pick PETG-CF if PC-CF was recommended due to PETG-CF being easier to print, the difference is not that big on a core one.

I agree! I also toyed with the idea of replacing PET-CF with PC-CF. In the end, I've now built up a large stock of PC-CF.

PETG-CF and PET-CF are not the same. PET-CF has a much higher heat deflection and although not as impact resistant as PC-CF it is definitely a viable replacement especially for Core One parts

What I wanted to add to be careful here. PETG and PET are not that similar. They are both polyester derived but they do not have the same material properties. PETG is softer and more impact resistant. PET is stiffer and more brittle but has a much higher heat deflection.

Good catch, I was reading a bit too fast there.
