PCTG straight onto textured bed or not?

Hello,

I ordered some fancy new PCTG for printing a model airplane (the PLA version did OK, but then it crashed and exploded into 1000 pieces on impact), the sales pitch says it's like PETG but much better impact resistance.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if I can print the straight onto my textured bed, or if I'm going to need hairspray or tape or something like that.

The stuff that's coming in is this: https://fiberlogy.com/en/fiberlogy-filaments/pctg/

Thanks in advance!

Hair spray will be your friend with this and I would use a textured plate.

Just leaving this here for the next person.

PCTG prints fine directly onto a textured sheet. It sticks very well, so do NOT clean your sheet before printing. The priming line area is the cleanest area on my sheet (because it gets used so much) and even from there it's removable without damage to the sheet (I did wreck my nail). I recommend to wet your fingertip in your mouth and run that where the priming line goes, or just greasy fingers work too. That makes it easily removable.

After some tweaking the stringing is very reasonable, I do think 100% flow is over extruding a little, I need to do more testing there.

I'm printing at:

* 250C nozzle

* 100C bed

* 1.2 retraction distance

* 25mm/s retraction speed

* 95% initial layer flow

@feday

Difficulty removing, have you tried the plastic razor blade scrapers?  They are made for stickers on windshields.
