PC Blend Carbon Fiber - heavy oozing

Is the aggressive oozing from the nozzle typical with the PC Blend Carbon Fiber filament?

I'm using the default profile at 285C. it seems to ooze until the hot zone has been effectivly emptied.

Is the filament hissing or popping

Try drying the filament for a day in a food dehydrator.  It might be hydrated.

I have not experienced this with PC Blend, but others have done it.

I haven't used PC CF but the standard Prusament PC Blend definitely oozes a fair bit. Needle-nose pliers to the rescue.

no change after dehydrator

I did pop it in the dehydrator over night. No change.

Thanks. This is my first PC blend. I didn't know if that was typical behavior.

Post a photo

Post a photo of the oozing that includes the heat sink and nozzle.

The hot end is a Slice Engineering Mosquito Magnum.

I used the default profile and preheated the printer.

After the load sequence was complete, I removed the extruded filament and started taking photos of the oozing filament.

And, of course, the images uploaded in reverse order. 🤦‍♂️

No. The photos posted in random order.

Nice.

Looks like pretty standard oozing of PC Blend to me, sitting there at target temperature. As we speak I'm using it on a Mk3S to print a new mount for a Dragon hotend for one of my Minis, and it's been happily oozing, as it's prone to.
