I wish we had more inf0 on the development of new products.

I suspect JP is very reluctant to say much given how quickly the Chinese cloners work. Prusa releases their hardware (FFF at least) as open source, but that doesn't mean they're required to divulge everything in advance. JP has said as much in some of the older videos. I'm sure when they release a new product, they want at least a few months to try to recoup their R&D investment. The alternative would be to go closed-source, and even then hinting at new product features can be a dicey proposition.

Good point.  Maybe we will see a better, larger Prusa.  After fighting with my ender-3 and CR-10S pro, I am done with Creality.

I very nearly pulled the trigger on a Creality Ender 3 and Anycubic i3 Mega recently. I don't have a major need for a 2nd printer, but it would be handy and I am curious about the non-Prusa experience. After reading reviews of life with other printers, I've realized I'll just be pissed off with all the fiddling. I'm also curious to see what Prusa comes out with, but I'm not holding my breath.

Personally, I'd like a dinky desktop printer (150x150x150) for a 2nd. Not what everyone wants I realize.

I could see this.  I have three Chinese made printers and it takes a lot of fiddling.

--newer geared bondtech

--stronger hot end fan

--include some of the awesome mods created by the user community like a bigger motherboard box, LCD cable clips - those were my two frustrations on my install, stuffing the cables in the einsy box and trying to fit the LCD cables in the extrusions. 😛

--standard V6 heatbreak, put the special MMU V6 heatbreak in with THAT kit.

--maybe just a tad bigger? 🙂

I don't care if there's a touchscreen. 🙂

RE: MK4 Wishlist

Just to spitball a little

I would like to see a nice size touch screen a more powerful MCU. Would like to see a Prusa Twist on the Ender 5 style printer. Would like to see it have a built in Wifi printing and monitoring software ( get rid of Octoprint it is too cumbersome and not specific to machine)

Would like to see the added feature of auto cool down and shutdown when print is complete this will help energy cost and unwanted run/idle time on hardware. This could be an on or off option for user to select.

Would like to have an option menu that would allow for a delayed start option to better manage prints.

Would be nice to have a audible sound when print is done.

Would be nice to have a sort of fan cover for heat break fan. It homes so far to the left it is hard to design anything that would work.

Thanks for your time, thats all i have for now.

At this stage, I would settle for a flat bed. Software compensation is cool and all, but when you're printing jigs and tools, a flat reference surface would be a great starting point.

So, maybe 9 point micro adjustment on the heatbed or something? So we can really dial in that first layer!

I could go with build-in wifi and octoprint.  I would love to see Plugins.

RE: MK4 Wishlist

A really simple one - you could do it now...

Mark the two sides of the build plate to show which way up it is.

I've been using one side for PLA and the other for FLEX as I iterate the design for the current project.  This-reduces the cleaning needed between prints but does make it essential to know which way up the plate is.

I did mark the sheet with a felt tip but after a few cleanings the ink is gone.

I'll keep it simple,

32 bit motherboard

bigger/taller case to house wiring

detachable LCD/Touch screen to move out and atach to an enclosure

Optional stabilisation supports and better rubber feet

Newer printers have better feet.

RE: MK4 Wishlist

Multi-head CNC + Laser Cutter + 3D Printer combos seem to be a new trend, so maybe there won't be any stunning 3D printing innovations, but a re-think of basic capabilities.

Like the E3D tool changer? That is an other level of product. No many fresh news about that from E3D.

i doubt you will ever see a low cost ( < $1500) multi tool with laser engraver or cutter available in the US - it would never pass FDA-CDRH requirements for eye safety and interlocks

The SnapMaker 1 was < $1000. They're releasing a 2nd version now.

like i said  - that machine is blatantly illegal to sell in the USA

USA law is any laser over 0.01W ( 10mW) is illegal if not totally enclosed in a sealed cabinet with safety interlocks including keyswitch to energize after power enabled

RE: MK4 Wishlist

Trinus is another company that sold a multi-tool unit back in 2015. I have no idea what the pricing was at the time, but it made quite a splash. I'm seeing prosumer units hit the market at the $2500 mark. Rather than aim low and produce yet-another big bed Cartesian, Prusa may do better by aiming higher, disrupting the prosumer ranges. If they can reduce costs (not "go cheap") there are healthier profit margins to be had.

@ron

I posted a link earlier to a multi tool changer, not sure if you saw it.
