mk3s+ Path to ABS/ASA, MMU and faster printing

Hi everyone,

I currently have a stock Mk3s+ living in the Prusa Enclosure and it has of course been flawless since I built it. However, I'd love to gain some more speed, print higher temp materials without the risk of damage to stock printed parts and would love some ability to do multi material.

I could just buy a x1 carbon and be done with it but I am not a fan of their approach to anything so are ruled out.

There's a couple of remaining options I see:

1. Keep mk3s+ add mmu3, swap to revo highflow hotend/nozzles for more speed and rebuild with parts printed in ASA/ABS et al.

2. Move to a stock mk4 kit and build with higher temp printed parts at build time add mmu3. Does it fit in the enclosure yet??

Actually, really only those two options... 

Ignoring cost the worst part with option 2 is losing the ability to properly use Octoprint which I enjoy a lot.

 

Any suggestions or considerations I've missed?

One question is how much ASA, PC, or other high temp material do you intend to print? For the occasional use, the original parts are fine. I only started to see an issue with a sagging PINDA holder after printing PCCF for days.

I don't actually know how much I will print them if I'm honest with you. I just want the option to do so without any consideration to the effect on the machine. I don't want to end up needing to print something semi important one day and find that it's just sagged enough to cause me issues.

At Mk3s+ print times it doesn't take many prints to achieves days of print time...

But I do see your point.
