Live adjust Retraction Speed & Distance
Hi,
what are you guys thinking about a menue on the display for live adjust your retraction settings like speed and distance?
For me it would be awesome for one of the next firmwareupdates.

After printing hundreds of models and parts of my own and other's designs using at least 40 different flavors of filaments, I have yet to touch a retraction setting. Why do you think having it in the menu would be helpful?

There are two ways to implement retraction:
1. In the firmware
2. In the slicer
PR uses the second option. This means that the retraction settings are fixed at the time slicing and cannot be changed within the printer. There is no way that the printer could know what is a retraction or a printing extruder move.
I haven't tried using firmware retraction - not sure whether the PR firmware can do this - but theoretically, this can be changed during a print (bu sending additional G-code).
As to why you would want to change the settings on the fly, I am 100% with Tim. Just calibrate the settings for the filament you are using and never change again.
