Is that okay to add "buy ready-made" link on Printables?

The gizmo I'm currently developing will be a bit tricky to make as it will require:

  • Some parts printed with TPE
  • At least some higher-precision parts printed with 0.25 nozzle
  • Specific type of bearing
  • Specific type of spring
  • Threaded inserts and matching screws

My intention isn't to try to make Printables into an advertising platform for my thing. There will be files provided for everything, with detailed BOM and assembly instructions. At the same time, I expect many users to be discouraged by the requirements so I'd like to provide a link (Etsy or something) to buy the thing manufactured and tested by me. Would that go against the Printables T&C?

Cheers,
Zbig

I can't speak to the legal aspects of the T&C but there is precedent, such as https://www.printables.com/model/7633-mmu2-led-light-bar-prusa-i3-mk2mk3

My personal opinion: Feels totally reasonable to me as long as all parts needed to build the model are provided, per STL files and bill of materials. There are examples of "teasers" on this site, which I find objectionable; one part that by itself is useless and really requires you to buy other stuff from the author to work. But as long as everything needed to get a model to work is provided here and  a prebuilt kit is offered through Etsy as a convenience, I think that should be fine.

Haha, I've actually bought the hardware kit from the light bar guy and that's where I got the idea, I guess. Thank you for your comment, I guess it's all fine as long as you're being reasonable and not make the users feel like you're trying to scam them.

I have that light bar, and am very pleased.  Not expensive, works well.

Don’t trust forum advice.

Agreed, I'm happy with mine, too.
