Is "Prusa Nozzle ObXidian - 0.4 mm" nozzle compatible with Prusa Slicer "HF0.4 nozzle" preset?
I just realized that since there are both "high flow" and non "high flow" variants of ObXidian nozzles, I might be using the wrong printer definition in Prusa Slicer.
There's the normal "Prusa Nozzle ObXidian" and the "E3D" variants. I have the former, but am currently set to "Pruse CORE One HF0.4 nozzle" in the slicer.
There is no obvious non-HF preset though, so I'm not sure whether that's because the "normal" nozzle I have counts as high-flow in this sense, or that I need to modify the settings or make a new preset?
Cheers,
David

It’s either HF0.4 or 0.4. There are no other variations. So if you have the high flow nozzle, choose HF0.4 otherwise 0.4.

You may have to go through the configuration wizard again.

Ah yeah. Prusa should just default the 0.4mm and allow you to uninstall it if you don't need/use it.

AFAIK, the default in the wizard is for the nozzle that a brand new printer ships with. You can install/uninstall different nozzle sizes/type by going through the wizard. You can even skip steps you aren't interested in the wizard by selecting the step you want in the list on the left side of the wizard and then clicking "Finish" at the bottom at any step in the wizard.
If you don't want to remember to go into the configuration menu to find the wizard, the last item in the printer profile drop-down list "Add/Remove Printers" will take you to the wizard... (Same with the filament profiles, but it's called Add/Remove filaments there.)

Yep, but then it trips up beginners a lot. Think the common nozzles should be preselected.
RE: Is "Prusa Nozzle ObXidian - 0.4 mm" nozzle compatible with Prusa Slicer "HF0.4 nozzle" preset?
Thanks for the answers. I did figure out the Wizard and reset the printer to a non HF 0.4 nozzle in the slicer.
However in "Connect" it's still calling the printer "HF 0.4"
Any thoughts on what's going on here?
RE: Is "Prusa Nozzle ObXidian - 0.4 mm" nozzle compatible with Prusa Slicer "HF0.4 nozzle" preset?
Whenever you change nozzles you need to update the nozzle type in the printer firmware. This is just a check to make sure you have the right nozzle selected when you slice the project. You can change it in PrusaConnect Settings or in the Setup->Hardware->Print Head on the Screen UI.
RE: Is "Prusa Nozzle ObXidian - 0.4 mm" nozzle compatible with Prusa Slicer "HF0.4 nozzle" preset?
The printer doesn't know how the slicer is configured. And the slicer doesn't know what hardware is installed on the printer. So both need to be brought in sync as hyiger described. Technically it's just a check, which you can disable but I see no good reason why you would want to.

Oooh thanks, I had assumed the settings were propagated through from the Slicer, or at least if they didn't match the Connect would complain (as it does with mismatching filament). Guess I'll not be swapping heads as often as I might swap filament.
