How to size the infill?

I recently made this pen holder

https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/3258-wall-mounted-pen-holder

Where i made a solid shape and then using the prusaslicer i switched off the top layer and then using guesstimation set the infill to 6%

This is roughly the right size for most of the pens i own

I now want to take this a step further with a bit holder for an impact driver where the bits all have a 6.3mm hex drive

So instead of guessing is there a way of calculating what % will give me an infill that has 7mm hex shaped holes?

RE: How to size the infill?

Calculate the infill extrude width and solve for the resulting area for the fill pattern at percentage X. Easy to do with LINE infill, a touch more difficult with a HEX pattern.

A CAD tool is probably easiest to get precise part designs. SCAD, Fusion 360, etc.
