Help! Need substitute filament recommendation please...
Stuck in the middle of a big project started with Hatchbox black PETG and now I can't find any more!
Can anyone recommend a similar filament that has about the same look and feel and isn't too outrageously priced?

I'm currently using a spool of Overture black PETg and I know that I could not tell the difference in a printed part from one made with Hatchbox. Paramount makes good PETg filaments too. 'PETg is the new PLA.' 😉

Yes, with PLA, not PETg sorry.
Several months ago I got a sample pack of many loose coils of Amazon Basic PLA filament in assorted colors. All of them that I've used have printed fine with the generic PLA settings in PS.
If they have a reasonably-priced black PETg, I don't see any major risk in trying it. It's most likely the same stock as one of the major brands.
