Heavy printing, now having issues at start

I have been printing COVID masks as fast as my MK2 will print and am starting to have problems. I believe the issues are belt related but hope someone can watch the startup sequence and confirm that. Both the print head and bed jump at the left side (print head) and rear (bed) of their travel when starting up. I do not see any damage on the belts or missing teeth so I am at a bit of a loss. Does anyone have any ideas?

If it is the belts, is there a local US source for them? I want to continue to print and am pretty sure waiting for belts from Europe will take a long time to arrive.

Your link doesn't seem to work.

Check your belts for tightness, they do stretch over time.

Search for "GT2 6mm belt" on Ebay, where you can buy it by the yard (or meter).

Ok, recreated the link. I don't want to have to post the video in the forum so hopefully this one works.

I know its pretty basic, but if it was me, I would then check the belt tensions in the menu, and do a physical check of grub screws.  I would then rerun the initial calibration to see how things came out to give myself a clean starting point to troubleshoot.

I would also lube the rods/bearings for good measure...not a full cleaning yet, just enough to make sure there is no added resistance.  However, a repacking may be in your future.

Is your printer grinding? Bearings squeaking? Motors smoking?
Step 1) Wash your Steel Sheet
Step 2) Return to Step 1

I don't think the MK2 has the belt tensions menu, didn't that come along with the MK3.

From the video, the weird noise at the start is caused by the X-axis micro-switch not changing state when the extruder reaches the X=0 point. Check that the X-axis micro-switch hasn't come loose? If it has, then use the MK2 build manual to refit and check the positioning.

The Y-axis seems to be ok, as I heard that micro-switch change state.

I checked the stop switch for the print head and it seemed to have been pushed out of the way a bit so I moved it out in the direction of the print head. I ran a complete self-check and recalibration and first test shows the issue resolved.

Thank you for the responses. Back to printing!

Don't forget to click on the "solved" button, when you are sure it's fixed.

Look after yourself and happy printing.
