RE: Has anyone received any orders from late April

I too have just had an Email from Prusa telling me that unfortunately the increased lead time does indeed apply to existing orders and not just new orders placed now. They also told me that  mine is due to ship end of June/ first few days in July . (ordered 15/5/2020) While that is still frustrating I feel so much better now that I have some more idea when to expect it rather than waiting everyday for an email with an update.

Ordered M3S kit, orange, txt bed, 9 May.

Shipped on 12 June.

Take the google doc with a pinch of salt, you can't be sure if people are forgetting to update it once they receive their printer.

What a cheeky thing to say when somebody has an identical configuration and gets theirs 2 weeks before you .

Just inform people you got yours early, but don’t doubt people who have been waiting lot longer than you.

You not taking it with a pinch of salt you are rubbing it in.

This is my second time ordering, and it's the same as it was in 2017.

Ordered 05.06.2020, black parts, with PTFE tube and spare E3D V6 nozzle for the old printer.  It was stating 3-4 weeks at the time.  I sent an email, asking if the current dates applied to old orders, no answer.  Still nothing about shipping expectation.  I'm also waiting for the upgrade to be available for my MK3.

I get his point, though; that spreadsheet is based on partial data, so we cannot read TOO much into it, although I'm thinking that those of us who do go through the trouble of filling that spreadsheet will most likely go back in to indicate that it has been shipped -- i'd be more concerned about all the orders that are not shown at all on that sheet. That said, I placed my order the exact same day he did, and Customer Service tells me the ETA on my order is end June/early July...

I fully understand the COVID challenges. What I do not get (according to that spreadsheet), is that Prusa does not seem to be doing FIFO, and with the available data, there does not seem to be a correlation between the extras added to the order, and the shipment date, either.

The good news though is that being located in Canada, I was expecting the shipping to take 2-3 weeks, but according to the spreadsheet, shipping seems to take 3-5 days.

@85lime

I would guess that Prusa are having problems with their PEI smooth/textured sheets.

They’ve started taking orders for the MMU2 upgrades again, which strongly suggests that they’re no longer constrained on print farm capacity. But the PEI sheets are still out of stock in the estore. On top of that, but looking at the google sheet, the only attribute that seems to have any real impact on ship times (although might not be statistically significant) is PEI sheet type, with smooth shipping a few days quicker. Finally we also know that the manufacturing process for the PEI sheets of both types is hard, because Prusa have said in the past they’ve had difficulty getting their suppliers quality up to spec.

All of which makes me suspect that PEI sheets are holding us up. Wouldn’t be surprised if many printers are sitting in boxes ready to go, just missing their build surfaces.

I do nto think they are having issues with the sheets.  I think it is a production or supply issue.  I just got an order this month that contained several.

To be clear, I don’t think they can’t make them. I just suspect they can’t make them fast enough, and it’s become the primary bottleneck for printer production. That would explain why they now have capacity to make MMU’s but you still can’t buy a PEI sheet from the estore.

Here we go again. More people passed over again. Whoever is running the shipping department needs to figure out why this keeps happening.

There is absolutely evidence of intentional or unintentional favouritism. The sheet has all sorts of outliers who ordered late in the process, and it seems to be that if you engage them publicly, on social media, etc. - you get earlier shipping. This could be as simple as someone internally asking where an order is up to, and that extra scrutiny means it gets checked early or whatever - but it's not a good look.

Again, I really, really want some transparency. Just tell us that the PEI sheets make orders later, or explain that manufacturing is or isn't batched up, or the basics of how orders get prioritised. If I was told 5 weeks ago that my order would take at least 6 more weeks to ship (i.e. when they knew), I'd be much less annoyed.

RE: Has anyone received any orders from late April

I connected to a Prusa support via online chat and was told that my order will probably be shipping a month from today or by the end of June. When I asked which is it, end of June or a month (which puts it mid-July), I was told that they don’t know and it was too soon to tell.

While I understand Covid-19 has impacted many businesses, but from what I’ve read here and elsewhere online, Prusa’s extended, unpredictable shipping woes have existed well before Covid.

To add insult to injury, when I asked them to cancel my order, I was told that they’ll refund me within 15 days.

At this point I don’t really care how great their products are, I can’t do business with a company that operates like that. I’m buying a Qidi Tech X-Plus instead.

Be aware that the Qidi Tech printers are known for being very slow. Something like 60mm/s max.

Nice printers otherwise. I almost went for a Max for my 2nd before I went with the Sidewinder.

Eh, that’s a bank thing and has nothing to do with Prusa. They give you bank the money immediately, but depending on a bunch of things it can take 15 days for the money to appear on your bank statement.

Good news is that during those 15 days the money belongs to you, and your bank will pay interest on it. Bad news you can’t spend it straight away.

My printers are past 5 weeks now, customer support said they are doing there best keeping up, with current would events an a explosion of 3d printer orders they are just backed up so the estimated lead time is growing. They said my printers should ship next week. (2 separate order placed on May 4th for Mk3/s Kits)

I ordered kit 1st May and nothing shipped yet.

It appears to be a lottery as people are getting theirs a week or two after my order.

There doesn't seem to be a first come, first serve basis.

RE: Has anyone received any orders from late April

I ordered my kit and MMU April 11th.  Received the kit +1 textured sheet May 9th.  Received the MMU June 5th.

Separate from all that I've been ordering filament to fill out my colors.  Prusa's $12 shipping on 2 rolls works out perfect so I usually order 2 at a time.  I order a couple rolls every couple days, especially when they come out with new colors.  They released Lime Green and I ordered 2 rolls (Lime Green and something else) in the morning (my morning).  I then ordered 2 more rolls a couple hours later.  I've ordered 2 rolls of various colors every other day since!

I received the order from June 5 am, but not the pm order and NO ORDERS since then.  They haven't shipped a single filament order between June 5th and today.  I have 4 orders of various PLA filament only listed as Payment Accepted.  The bottom order shown is the Mini and I know that won't ship anytime soon.

That would be almost the fastest delivery in the sheet at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r9yARl4QjmJJYcp1nSAJojfRu_sKQhdGCwfBQ-seHzg/edit?usp=sharing - apart from the outlier in early May.

Did you order the MMU and the printer in the same order? I was told they wouldn't split shipment without charging double shipping.

Lead time was listed as 3-4 weeks (for the i3 kit) when I ordered.  Within a day or two of my order the lead times jumped 2 weeks. I ordered the MMU on a separate ticket because I didn't want to incur any US customs fees for orders over $800.  I also ordered a bunch of filament with the MMU order and they did split that out for me right around the time they shipped the kit.  I didn't have to pay any extra shipping for the split.

Truth be told I'm having second thoughts on the MMU.  I really like the bulletproof results I'm getting right now and I'm scared to upset the balance in the force.  It's still in my closet with unmolested Haribos.  Plus, when my wife sees it in the closet it I can say it came with the printer and I've had it this whole time.
