Hard to remove supports on a non prusa printer with same support settings as Prusa MK4
Hi all,
Hope someone has some ideas, since I am running out of ideas myself.
I have a Prusa MK4 and a diy CoreXY project with Eva3 and DragonFly HIC and a Sprite Extruder. My CoreXY printer has extrusion multiplier perfectly tuned and both printers use same nozzle size.
I use Prusa Slicer with exactly the same support settings on both my MK4 and CoreXY printer. When printing on my MK4 the support structures are very easily removed for PLA/PETG/ASA. When I print on my CoreXCY printer the supports are somewhat impossible to remove and in some cases are nearly fused with the model.
I am running out of ideas on what calibration could be done and what could be tweaked in order to get similar results that my MK4 delivers.
Any advice would be highly appreciated!
Best regards
Have you tried tweaking the contact Z distances in:
Print Settings > Support Material > Options for support material and raft
- You need to be in Advanced or Expert mode.
Cheerio,

Hi Diem,
I haven’t tried that yet. I have been using “bobs support settings” on both printers with the exact same values. It is so weird that they produce similar print results and very different support results when they have the exact same values in PS.
Right now the printer is down for maintenance but will try to fiddle with z distance 🙂
RE: Hard to remove supports on a non prusa printer with same support settings as Prusa MK4
Hi Diem,
It was a seetings issue. I needed to set xy seperation to 150% - on my MK4 I had it on 125%. Now the support structures are very similar to those produced by my MK4, and they remove just as easily.
Thanks
