Goodbye and Farewell Prusa!
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to bid farewell to the Prusa community. Over the past few years, I've been a dedicated fan, starting with the MK3 and eagerly purchasing the MK4 as soon as it was announced. While my initial experience with the MK4 had its challenges, I persisted and finally found success with my third machine – a case of third time's the charm, as they say.
Recently, I found myself needing to switch to ASA as my primary material. Upon exploring options, I considered investing in a Prusa enclosure, but the cost, totaling around $750 AUD including shipping, and the size made it impractical for my space. After some research, I decided to try out the Bambu X1C instead.
I must say, the Bambu X1C has exceeded my expectations in every way. From its premium feel with fully enclosed aluminum panels and a tempered glass lid and front door to its array of features including a beautiful touch screen, internal LED light, camera, and core XY, I've been thoroughly impressed. The print quality and speed are exceptional, surpassing that of my MK4. Plus, even with shipping and import taxes factored in, the Bambu X1C cost me $500 AUD less than the Prusa MK4.
I want to express my gratitude to the Prusa community for the support over the years. While I was initially loyal to the brand, my experience with the Bambu X1C has opened my eyes to new possibilities. Regrettably, I don't foresee myself returning to Prusa after such an incredible experience with Bambu. Today, I bid farewell to my MK4, which has found a new home. Wishing you all the best.
