Favorite USA Made 3d Filament

I am trying to standardize my filament selection. I would like to find out from seasoned users about which filament made in the USA are preferred. I mostly use PLA, PETG, ASA, and TPU with the hardened nozzle of either .4mm or .6mm. Thank you for your response.

I use Printed Solid brand for PLA & PETG.  They are owned by Prusa.  Their in-house “Jessie” brand is great value & quality.  They currently do not offer any USA-made selections beyond PLA & PETG, if I recall correctly.  You would be buying another brand outside of those two.  They also sell Prusa’s filament that’s made in their New Jersey location using certified Prusa processes.  Check it out.

I'd also like to throw in a vote for PrintedSolid. Their Jessie filament (while limited to PLA, PETG, and Silk (Elixir)) is quality filament at really affordable prices (often less than the pre-tariff prices of HatchBox and other Chinese filaments found on Amazon). The Jessie Premium Elixir line is a result of PrintedSolid buying the recipe for Polyalchemy Elixir when Polyalchemy got out of the filament business. Last time I visited their show room (I'm lucky to live about 15-20 minutes away from their showroom in Delaware), they only had 1 Prusa line assembled and were working out the kinks. I didn't know about the NJ filament lines that @dan82 mentions... I need to visit them again (always an expensive expedition for me). 😉

I've had good quality filament from ProtoPasta. But, most of their filaments are specialized filaments that command premium pricing. Their HTPLA is NatureWorks Ingeo 3D850 which takes annealing really well. (The Ingeo general purpose PLA that most filament manufacturers (PrintedSolid included) use doesn't have significant heat resistance after annealing, unlike 3D830.)

I've had samples from 3D-Fuel (thanx, Makerbox), but haven't gotten around to ordering from them, mostly out of laziness. I'm interested in their PCTG ever since seeing an interview about it by 3DPN (Joel Telling). Apparently their "Tough Pro PLA+" is NatureWorks Ingeo 3D870 which has similar annealing heat resistance as the 3D830, but adds significant toughness (and price...). I also like that 3D-Fuel is upfront with the grade of PLA used instead of completely hiding behind unregulated names like "PLA+" which means different grades/blends depending on who made the filament.

I also like GreenGate3D but all they make is PETG, originally only recycled but now also virgin. (Apparently recycled from industrial waste, before anyone tries to send them their failed PETG prints...) I really like their "Purple Reign" and "Cherry Pie by Billie Ruben" colors. Both have a subtle iridescence.

NinjaTek seems to exclusively make flexibles, but their pricing is premium. I've had good experience with NinjaFlex on my MK3S+, but haven't printed anything since I got my MK4.

I'm sure there are more (and I look forward to following this thread), but those were the only ones I could think of off the top of my head. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the ones I listed, above, make ASA.

I ordered some Voxal, haven't printed it yet, but the price was reasonable. I'll print with it soon.  I normally use Hatchbox, which I consider premium, prints great and the color consistency especially on black has been great.  I print 99% black PETG.

Hatchbox TPU is good as well but appears softer even though it's says it's 95A.  I actually prefer Priline for TPU.  Mind you Priline is not USA, but Hatchbox does have some American made filaments now.

Thank you everyone for commenting. I will be following this post for more news. I just really hope I can find a good manufacturer of quality filament that makes both engineering and common filament for my needs.
