Extruder Deformation due to high temp in the enclusure

Hello,

I've been printing PETG in a cardboard enclusure with a MK3s/MMU2 for some hours and this is the result:

New users: please be aware of the risk when printing in an enclosure

btw that part of plastic was not really important, I just cut it away... It could be re-printed in ABS/ASA but imho it's not worth the time of disassembling/reassembling it

You can also read in this thread below about the problem, the fact that the blue sock is blocking the head downwards and push it concentrated with the air flow just upwards to the part the melted in your case.

I, too, was having deformation problems while printing PETG in an enclosure.  I now leave the door open but still had to reinforce one part critical to MMU functionality to prevent continued failures:

RE: Extruder Deformation due to high temp in the enclusure

I had failure of the same part as well as drooping of the pinda mount, which created much more of a problem.  I realized the problem as I had to keep readjusting the first layer height.

PETG mainly, some PLA, no enclosure at the time, I was printing parts for the V1 enclosure

Reprinted the R5 extruder cover and body in prusament ASA (default settings, in the enclosure), which resulted in the fan shroud starting to melt as well.  So I reprinted the fan shroud in priline PC.

So now I have a replaced extruder body and cover in ASA and a fan shroud in PC.  No problems in the past week, but it took much longer for the symptoms to develop in the first place.

I recently picked up some polymax PC, thinking of trying to reprint the R5 extruder body and cover parts in that just in case the ASA fails as well.
