Loose Lips Sink Ships

Earlier in the day, E3D put up posts on Facebook and Twitter mentioning the MK4 in regards to the Revo.  They have since been taken down.  Maybe they were misinformed or too early.  The Prusa Live episode aired and there was no mention of an XL or MK4.  In fact they avoided any discussion about it, but instead talk about the Revo Hotend.  They said the Prusa Connect (farm software) is on its second beta and far along development.  They had some preview pictures of a large snowflake sculpture where parts will be added to it over the course of the Expo.  I'm sure Friday will have a flood of news.

Mysterious Parts

There are a few new parts.  One refers to a “SuperSwitch”.  That is probably related to a farm manager or a toolchanger.  I’m just guessing.

RE: SuperSwitch

Actually I think this refers to an older product.  Prior to the MK3.

RE: Part

I believe it is an equivalent to https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/59939-pc4-m10-clip-for-gravity-spoolholder and similar parts. Just shorter, with a hole to keep ptfe in without a fitting.

RE: Thanks

Prediction

Any other predictions from the forum?

A device which can flush prints without human intervention, enabling automatic production of larger series of objects?

Looks like Prusa is looking beyond hobbyists

Prusa print farm announced.

Looks like Prusa is looking beyond the hobbyist market. Good news for those who say they're willing to pay for support:

... With larger farms, we are aiming for 3000USD per printer + service contract.

I assume smaller farms will pay more.

$3K + Service Contract

$3K is a lot of money, but this is aimed at businesses and institutions.  I wonder if this service contract depends on the certified Prusa technician program they spoke about a little while ago?  As of right now, I have a lot of doubt Prusa will have any releases for the rest of the year.  This "farm" is partially based on the XL.  I wonder why they had to reduce the size?  The supplier issue is a big problem.

Happy and sad

I was looking forward to the idea of a mk4. Prettymuch a mk3 with a 32 bit board, perhaps some spare ports, new screen and a slightly larger build area.

Im glad to hear they are ramping up for commercial business, but im into 3d printing as a hobby, so $3k is not in my budget/interest.

I was going to hold back, hoping for pre-order and tech specs of the "2 new printers," (xl and ?) But im not nessisarily interested in the xl at this time. So the prusa pro is kinda a let down from my hobbiest prespective.

All that being said, i guess ill be looking into getting a mk3s for christmas if i do get another printer.

@bobstro i like your schedualed forum response predictions. I think theyll hold true regardless 😀

What are all of you hoping to see spec wise for the prusa pro/xl? Or the alleged mk4?

Prusa pro/xl hopes

I am mostly hoping for a reliable way to print multiple materials. Would have really liked to see what that tool changer looks like.
