DHL
When is Prusa going to get an a better alternative to DHL. I have waited 6 months for my XL. It has been sitting in DHL warehouse all day. All their notifications say the same thing and you don't have a clue where your order is. They do not respond Online Chat, I use Prusa's online chat and I know how long to remain in the cue, unlike DHL who times you out after 6 or 7 minutes.
POOR
RE: DHL
I'm not sure where you are located but here in Washington State USA, I will take them everyday and 2x on Sunday over FedEx which is the other alternative.
RE: DHL
Where are you located, in Antarctica? DHL is world class in international express deliveries.
If you want to experience REAL sh*t service from an international delivery company, try FedEx next time. That will put your experience into perspective haha.
I have not had one good interaction with FedEx, they are the worst freight company I've ever had to deal with!. But I've never had a problem with DHL and I've ordered a lot of gear from Prusa international express deliveries. On EVERY occasion that Prusa sends their orders via FedEx they don't even deliver the goods to your address, they send you a notification and make you pick it up from their airport depot, EVERY time, they are the most useless freight company I've ever had to deal with!

Not denying your poor interactions - I've heard similar from other people - but as a counterpoint I've had only good interactions with both Fedex and DHL. They've both been great.
But customs, they stiff you with 10% sales tax + 10% import duty + port fees + broker fees + handling fees + fee fees. I recently paid over $300 customs on a $1000 package. The postage was only $70!
It's the worst bit about ordering something from overseas. Fedex and DHL are saints by comparison.
RE: DHL
You can't blame FedEx/DHL for the majority of that $300 $210 is sales tax and import duty which your government impose, port fees again they are just passing on. It is just the expenses of dealing with overseas companies

I wasn't blaming Fedex or DHL. As I said they've been great. I specifically named Customs aka the government.
RE: DHL
And here we are Easter long weekend it is sitting in Winnipeg in the warehouse and they don't work weekends.
WOW.

I bought some Prusament and spare parts a little before my XL arrived, and shipped them by FedEx. And then had to fill out forms assuring them that I wasn't importing toxic or radioactive materials. It turned into a surprisingly close race as to which would reach me first.
The printer was shipped by DHL, and yeah, the status updates were remarkably spammy and uninformative, but it did get here on time and intact, without being suspected of being a NBC hazard.
RE: DHL
Often DHL doesn't deliver direct. Your package gets transferred to another carrier. My XL took over 1.5 weeks to get delivered by a freight company after it was transferred from DHL.
It's just part of the game. The box is big and heavy. You've waited this long another week is not a big deal.
