Could Static discharge fry usb port?

😫 I went to plug in a flash drive and got a pretty good shock. Now mini wont recognize flash drive. Tried a couple other flash drives I had to no avail. Any recommendations?

I'm afraid so, can you access printer via network?

I havent tried accessing via ethernet yet. I was going to try a new flash drive first and than assess. If it is indeed the usb port will I just have to re solder a port into the board or is there a possibility of that discharge affecting more beyond it?

You may need a new LCD display

Possibly is best answer I can give - static can potentially be sending several hundred to thousands of volts through components designed to handle around 5v - it is likely from a single discharge it just fried the USB input (the physically connector is liable to be OK)
