RE:

It's a bill up for legislative vote. It was submitted by my congresswoman. It hasn't been made into law yet and it's entirely possible the bill could die on floor.

A lot this is just hysterical hyperbole.  If it passes then the concern is warranted. But contrary to internet hype, it won't result in banning ownership of 3D printers. But again... if... it passes.

And the first video by "Loyal Moses" is why I unsubscribed from his channel. It's clickbate to make it appear that the law is already in-place. It's not. I've already written to my congresswomen explaining this is a bad idea.

yea, "clickbait". Spamming Youtube videos with zero commentary should be moderated (with zero commentary) as clicking on the video to figure out what this is all about already generates monetary income.

RE: California Just Killed Open Source

I looked a bit further into this, it was introduced by a single state legislator, Rebecca Bauer-Kahan and has no support. She's the representative for my district. I've met her, let's just say there is no way she wrote this on her own (or at all). I asked someone (who knows someone) in the state legislature and there is no support for this bill and it's a long-shot to get passed into law. Even then the governor has hinted at a veto even if it does pass.

Anyway, I guess YouTubers need to get those clicks...
