BVOH arrived without vacuum sealed nor manufacturing date listed

Hi, I bought a box of expensive BVOH from Prusa. When it arrived, no manufacturing date was printed on the box. When I opened the box, although the bag was seemingly sealed, it was not vacuum sealed. Is this common? At this price, I would expect it to be vacuum sealed with manufacturing date. Why there is no date? Is this a way so they could sell products made long time ago without being caught? Also, why are we supposed to dry it for many hours before use? Any advantage in doing that?

Some filaments need nearly continuous drying

Some filaments are very attractive to water.  That is one of them.

RE: Not vacuum sealed

I know. That is why I asked if it is normal that they did not vacuum sealed it nor include the manufacture date. Are they expecting us to spend hours to dry it for their ignorant?

Did yours arrive without vacuum sealed?

Just a few days ago PVA+ from Prusa arrived and it´s not vacuum sealed, but it´s tightly sealed with dessicant, so there is no problem. Also I didn´t find manufacturing data. The spool is reselled from PrimaCreator.

Finally there is one big con on packaging. It lacks resealable bag and once opened you have to move it to another suitable bag.

Is it normal that BVOH does not stick to PLA? I could remove it easily by hands without having it to get wet first.

RE:

I don´t have experience with BVOH, but normal supports are also easily removed by hand. I think you have to change the setting  for "contact z distance". Normally it is between 50-75 % of layer height and if you lower this parameter, it should stick more. Another usefull parameter is interface pattern spacing. When set to zero you get a solid surface, which is better for nicer contact surfaces.
