Buy MK3S or wait for MK4?

Hello!

I'm thinking about buying the MK3S but it's quite bit of money since it's only a hobby for me.

Do you guys recommend buying the MK3S or wait for MK4?

Has there been any information on when MK4 might be released?

Also do you recommend the powdered bed or smooth PEI? Do any of them work with nylon?

mk4 is just a pipe dream right now.  prusa just released the mk3s and sl1  printers.

Do you recommend the powder sheet or smooth PEI sheet? I print with many different materialt nylon, flexible, PETG and PLA. Does the printer work with glas beds?

Thanks for the help

Buy the MK3s - there is no indication that the MK4 will be out anytime soon.

You will get a year or two good use out of the MK3S.

Then, when the MK4 comes out, buy the upgrade kit.

Prusa printers seldom become obsolete. I don't know any other company that is as good on upgrades.

either or both sheets ( depends on the first layer finish you want/need). no glass bed option because it needs the steel sheet for auto Z leveling.

Or not. Still plenty of people happy with their 2s and 2.5s.

Get it now, enjoy printing, and then see what the 4 offers when it is available.

Indeed. That was a big factor in the MK3 being my first printer.

Thanks for the help. I bought it with the smooth PEI. Im a bit bummed that you cant use it with glass since its durable. Also for some projects I want to get a glossy surface which u can get on glass.

Is there no workaround to be able to use glass?

Smooth PEI will give a glossy finish if you get your live Z right.

I have and you can use glass but why would you.

Pei makes it pretty glossy. I just got a mk3s my self, I picked booth pei and powder coated though. I had a mk2s that still printed amazing but I love new tech so had to change now when we got free shipping.

I cant wait to receive it!

Big reason why I bought it was the great community it has and to support an awesome company.
