"Bubbled" top layer print
Hey,
I have an MK4 and originally I got good prints all around. After a while and with several other filaments, I started noticing this "bubbled" printing issue on the top layer. I started thinking that it might be related to the moister in the filament (I don't have any special storage) but if that was the case, why is it just on the top layer?
I'm using PLA. I tried changing the settings for the top layer, like speed, but it didn't change the result. I don't get this all the time and not in all places, as you can see from the photo below.
Any ideas what this could be related to?

Did you get okay prints with the same model before? This to me looks like insufficient infill and/or insufficient number of top layers to get a good horizontal surface.

First time I print this one but yeah, infill is lighter here.
Is there a specific infill pattern that is better for lighter infill for faster prototyping?

As usual, it "depends", mostly on model geometry. For a large horizontal surface, I usually try to go for 15% minimum infill, mostly gyroid as an all around useful pattern, sometimes cubic. For larger models I also use adaptive cubic, in which case you have to go higher on the infill to say 20 or 25%. For prototyping I usually don't care about some imperfections on the top surface so I go with 10% gyroid or cubic infill, and sometimes even Lightning.
